What is the Christmas Basket Fund?

The Kiwanis Club of Stratford and CJCS have been providing Christmas Baskets full of food for needy families for over 25 years. This Christmas tradition has its roots in a program that started with Stratford's social services department in the early 1970's. In 1980, Kiwanian Jim Fair and Braden Doerr of CJCS felt their organizations could contribute to the basket project and stepped up to the plate and generously offered to take it over. Every year since then a complex, well-coordinated volunteer troop is put in motion, involving not only all the members of the Kiwanis Club of Stratford, but members of their family, their neighbors and the community.

• Over 300 volunteers will spend many hours hours raising the funds, sorting and pre-bagging the food, preparing the delivery routes and packing and delivering the baskets.
• On delivery day, December 22, 2008, about a hundred volunteers will pack and deliver 15,000 kg of food valued at $30,000 to more than 600 families in Stratford and area. Amazing!

Are Funds Matched ?

All funds raised by this on-line auction will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the BBB Foundation, up to a maximum of $7,500!

On-Line Auction Policies

• Bidders must be 18 years of age or older.
• CJCS/Mix FM reserves the right to make final decisions on any bid, and reject any bid that we deem unacceptable or fraudulent without notice.
• Winning bidders will be contacted by e-mail when the auction had ended.
• Pick up of items begins about December 17th at the CJCS/ MIX FM studios, 376 Romeo Street. Or you may call CJCS/Mix FM at 519-271-2450 during office hours.
• Cash or cheques - made out to CJCS Kiwanis Christmas Basket Fund - are the only accepted methods of payment.

Bid Increments

• Items with values BELOW $50 must be increased by a minimum of $1.00 increments.
• Items that are valued BETWEEN $50 and $99 must be increased by a minimum of $5.00 increments.
• Items with values OVER $100 must be increased by a minimum of $10.00 increments.
• Bidding ends on Monday, December 15, 2008, at 5pm. You will be notified by e-mail if you are the winning bidder. Pick up begins Wednesday December 17th until December 24th at noon, at the CJCS/ MIX FM studios, 376 Romeo Street, South
