Stratford Shakespeare Festival

The Stratford Shakespeare Festival’s 2010 season offers something for everyone. Each of the 12 plays promises to be a glorious production, filled with exquisite costumes and eye-catching scenery, brought to life by some of the greatest actors in the world. Artistic Director Des McAnuff has put together a playbill that explores the astonishingly varied dramatic universe that Shakespeare helped to create.

Drayton Entertainment

The Drayton Festival Theatre is located only 30 minutes north of Kitchener-Waterloo. Drayton operates 5 other venues throughout the province: The Huron Country Playhouse and Playhouse II in Grand Bend, King’s Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene, Schoolhouse Theatre and St. Jacob’s County Playhouse in St. Jacobs. Blyth Festival
The Blyth Festival was founded in 1975. At that time, the festival was the only summer theatre producing original Canadian plays, and one of the very few, if not the only "500-seat" theatre in Canada producing Canadian plays exclusively. Today, located in a village of 1,000 in rural Huron County, the Blyth Centre for the Arts is a year-round centre of cultural activity for southwestern Ontario. In addition to the Blyth Festival, the Centre includes an Art Gallery that showcases three professional exhibits, one non-juried community show and co-ordinates a student exhibit each season. Stratford Community Players

CJCS / MIx FM has been the Media Sponsor for the Stratford Community Players many years. CJCS / MIX FM General Manager Steve Rae was one of the founding member of SCP back in 1989. The group's 20th anniversary production was "Guys and Dolls", in February 2010, directed by Laurel Brown with Musical Direction by Paul Coates. Show for 2011 is to be announced soon.

Stratford Summer Music

2010 is the 10th anniversary of this, Stratford's "other" festival. Five weeks of concerts, recitals, and master classes featuring Canada's most promiment classical musicians. It runs July 19 to August 22 in a variety of venues in Stratford. Get tickets through their website. Artistic Director is John Miller. Season Sponsor is SunLife Financial.

Gallery Stratford

Inspiring exhibitions are elegantly presented in this prominent public art gallery. CJCS/Mix FM has partnered with the Gallery for more than 20 years in its annual I Love My Gallery live phone-in auction. Gallery Stratford also has a Gift Shop, Community Studio, Family and Company studio for children, a summer program called Arts Alive - all surrounded by beautiful gardens and a waterfall. Groups welcome. Open year-round. CJCS supports the gallery by hosting a live on-air fundraising auction every February called "I Love My Gallery" Auction.
